About 2 months ago or so I added 3 Black Copper Marans pullets to our flock. They are so beautiful but mine are also pretty bossy and flighty. Part of it is no doubt because we did not raise them ourselves from chicks. They were already about 2 months old or so when we got them. They are supposed to lay gorgeous dark chocolate tinted eggs. Most will not lay that dark of an egg but they sure are a pretty color. I'm pretty sure at least two of mine are currently laying. I hope their eggs get a little darker, but here is a sample of the darkest one we have been getting.
Can't wait till our Easter Eggers start laying next spring. What's in your egg basket these days?
